Vinta - Fountain Pen Ink - Shimmer - Mother of Pearl (Nakar 1934)
Vinta inks are obsessively designed and meticulously mixed in the Philippines using high quality ingredients. The Vinta inks come in a 30mL amber glass bottle and are suitable for fountain pen or calligraphy use.
Each colour has a story to tell, related to the local culture or history. Mother of Pearl is also known as “nakar” in the Philippines. More fiction than fact, legends have surrounded the largest pearl, 6.38kg, ever discovered. It was said that a diver drowned retrieving the pearl in May 1934 in Palawan, Philippines. It is known as the Pearl of Allah or the Pearl of Lao-Tzu. Mother of Pearl (Nakar 1934) is a grey and purple ink with silver shimmer. It is evocative of the Philippines and its nickname as the Pearl of the Orient.
As part of the Vinta Initiative, a portion of each ink bottle sale is donated to the Teach for the Philippines Inc., which helps Filipino children access quality education.
