A brilliant oversize pen that is sure to be the crown of any pen collection, the Sailor 1911 King of Pens is comfortable in the hand and matched with the beloved Sailor 21k gold nib. This example features a pitch black Ebonite barrel paired with a classic gold clip.
Invented by Charles Goodyear in 1839, Ebonite was the predominant material for the construction of fountain pens until the advent of Celluloid with many of these early Ebonite pens being highly collectible today. With its name taken from its similarity in appearance to ebony wood, Ebonite is in fact a hard rubber and is lauded for its warmth and depth in comparison to more common resin materials.
The Sailor 1911 King of Pens Ebonite is presented in a Sailor Gift Box, with two Sailor Black cartridges and a Sailor converter.
